INTRODUCTION:
This league is a 32 team NFL fantasy league that will try and mirror real life NFL as close as possible. This includes contracts with salary cap, transactions, yearly rookie drafts, etc. Every NFL team will have one person take over as the "GM" of the team and will control all transactions.
*NOTE* The fee for the introduction year will be paid for by the commissioner and will be discussed as a whole league on future years regarding possible entry-fees and prize payouts.
Prizes:
Superbowl champion will receive $200 prize.
*FUTURE PRIZES*
This will be updated once the league is formed and discussed by everyone and may include money payouts and/or league compensation for division winners, most improved, best draft class, etc.....
Most improved team-determined by the greatest gain of wins in the year from last year. In case of a tie, points scored as a whole team will be the tie-breaker.
Timer will be for 6 hours with a sleep clock overnight. Timers for the draft will be dictated by the flow of the draft and how much time is left before the season starts so it may fluctuate to ensure all off-season moves will be finished on time. The timer will never change without warning.
ROSTER:
You can have up to a maximum of 53 roster spots and will need a minimum of 30 players on your active roster at one time (excludes IR spots). During the offseason you may have more than 53 roster spots, you will just need to cut players before the first game of upcoming season. Starting lineups must consist of 19 (OFF/DEF) spots filled with active NFL rostered players. Not setting a full lineup will result with your lineup being invalidated, which could result in draft pick loss, or being kicked from league (if necessary).
After the roster deadline has passed, the settings will be reset to a maximum of 53 active and 16 practice squad players.
PRACTICE SQUAD:
Each team may have a maximum of 16 practice squad players. Call-ups and send-downs will be posted on proboards in the respective thread. The only players allowed on the practice squad are players in that have been in the league for 3 years or less (fantrax will annotate a rookie as 0 seasons. any annotation that says 0, 1, or 2 under "NFL SEASONS" will be eligible and players on the practice squad in real life-as denoted by the green flag. Illegal players found to be sent down to the practice squad will be sent through waivers for 24 hours-during which time other owners may claim them. *SEE WAIVER RULES*
INJURED RESERVE:
Players on IR will not count towards the 53/30 roster limits. There is no limit to the amount of players you can have on IR. When players are on IR, you recoup 50% of their salary for that given season. Only players on IR on Fantrax may be placed here (no FA/suspended players). There is a 2 week IR leeway period, where you can leave a player on IR if they’re activated in real life, and not receive an illegal roster (this allows teams time to make room for the player on their active roster). After those 2 weeks, the team will have an illegal roster and the player will have to be moved off of IR.
STARTING LINEUP:
Teams will start 21 players every week of the season:
Offense
1 QB
1 RB
2 WR
1 TE
1 RB/WR
1 TE/WR
1 Offensive Flex (RB/WR/TE)
Defense
1 DT
2 DE

1 S
1 DB
1 Defensive Flex (any defensive eligible player)
Kicking
1 Kicker
1 Punter
SCORING:
SEE FANTRAX FOR SCORING
SCHEDULE/PLAYOFFS:
We will use a 17 game schedule, some week we will have doubleheaders and possibly triple headers on rare occasions. This will be done prior to the start of the regular season. Pre-season and post-season games in real life are not included for our schedule. SuperBowl will be played week 17. Schedules will be determined by real life but may not reflect the correct order, just the opponents throughout the year.

3. Conference Record

5. Strength of Schedule
Free Agency:
Free Agency will be divided into 2 parts, in season and off season.
-Off season
Off-season will be from the a date specified by the commissioner to the kickoff of the first game. These will be done via open bidding on proboards. When a team is awarded a player, their contract will be input on ProBoards.
UFA: The minimum bid is 0.50m per season.
-Ex. You bid 3 years @ 5m which would equal 15m total for the contract.
-Another team bids 4 years @ 5m which would equal 20m total. The second team has the higher bid.
To beat a bid, you must up the total money value by at least 0.5m. Players are awarded 24 hours after the final bid is placed. An email will be sent out right before off-season Free Agency begins that will instruct you on how to proceed. Contracts may be ascending or descending but may not be more than double or half in value of any other year in the deal.
This will help avoid back-loading to ruin teams in case of a GM quitting.
Max 4 years per contract
UDFA: The minimum bid is 0.10m and the minimum increment is 0.10m.
-Only rookies for that specific year will be allowed on this thread (drafted and undrafted)
-Maximum increments of 1 mil are allowed from year to year

-In season
This will follow the open style bidding on proboards, but only 1 year deals are allowed. Same concept of beating the total money value, but by 0.2m. 24 hour timer. If a player thread is open prior to season start than GMs may still continue to bid multi-year deals if desired.
Waivers:
Players may be released on waivers. The penalty for this is 50% in the current season, and 25% for future seasons. This will be spread out for the life of the contract, not lumped into one year. Players will remain on waivers only 24 hours after they are released.
You may now allow waived players to absorb the remaining deal into a 1 Year cap hit (50% of total $$ remaining).
Teams may claim players off of waivers. The waiving team receives no penalty for the player, and the new team receives the player at his current salary.
If two or more teams claim the same player, he will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis but the previous years worst team will always trump a claim.
Teams will still be responsible for contracts if a player retires. That team will be responsible for 25% every year including the current year.
Penalty Waivers:
Practice squad is spot checked randomly. In the event of the commissioner finding a violation the following penalties will occur
1. On the first violation the GM will be warned and told to fix the problem.
2. On the 2nd violation the players in question will be dropped from the team. In which case they may be taken by other GMs under the normal waiver rules. If nobody takes the player he will be waived by the original team and be paid full pay.
Restricted Free Agency:
RFA will be determined by the real life team contract. If the real life team offers them a contract you may choose to accept or deny the contract. If you choose to deny the contract the player will head to free agency with no penalty to the losing team. At the end of each season there will be a thread created for each team and all teams must continue to check this thread to work those players. Dead contracts and Team options will be treated the same way as an RFA contract. All contracts under these rules must be accepted by no later than 2 weeks from the start of of the season. specific dates will be stated at the start of the off-season when real-life schedules are released.
Contract Extensions (Options):
Players may only be allowed to 1 option per team and twice per life of a contract (i.e. Team A extends DK Metcalf. Team A can then trade DK Metcalf to team B and team B can extend DK Metcalf once more before he is sent to free agency.) This will be annotated under each player's name on the spreadsheets.
Every team will receive unlimited extensions every year BUT extensions will be the real life contract per spotrac.com. In an effort to help prevent drastic underpayment of players, any extension, team option, dead contract, RFA or draftee will receive the "cap hit" number shown on spotrac and that GM will inherit the full contract length that remains. A player must be under contract to receive an extension (i.e. that player is tagged and held by a team until a real life contract is signed or that player receives an extension in real life.
If a player is tagged AND extended that player will not be forced to play the upcoming season on the tag price unless the GM turns down the extension.
If a player is released in real life the owning team here will not receive a penalty. The contract for that player will be marked as $0 and may remain on the team until the end of the season if released during the season BUT if a player is released during the offseason then that player may remain on the team's roster until the start of the season before going to free agency. If the player signs a new contract in real life, that team will be given the option to accept or deny that contract. If the contract is denied the player will be sent to free agency with no repercussions. That team will be allowed to bid on the player in free agency if they so choose.
Contract Restructures:
Teams may restructure 1 contract each offseason. You may move one lump sum from one year to another year. This may fluctuate from year to year to follow along with the real life salary cap fluctuation. The amount of money allowed to move to a different year depends on the total money of the singular year you are moving from.
20m and over: 7m restructure
13m-19.99m: 5m restructure
12.99m and under: 3m restructure
Players may only be restructured once per contract. If a player is restructered and then later extended, the previous restructure will be voided. This will be annotated under the player's name on the spreadsheet.
Franchise Tags:
Each off season, teams will have the option to apply 1 franchise tag to players whose contracts will be UFA next year. Franchise tags will be due by the real life date set by the NFL each year.If no tag is given by this date, that player will be sent to free agency with 0 penalty to the releasing team. The amount will reflect NFL rules and will be the average of the Top 5 contracts for their respective position in the fantasy league. This will only be for the consecutive year. Any player that is tagged and traded will have 75% of the contract covered by the trading team. Unlike extensions/options, a team may franchise tag a player as many times as they wish (if a player is given an extension in real life after that player was tagged in this league then it is up to that GM to accept/deny that extension or allow the player to remain on the tag)
*Franchise tag must be submitted by the real life date specified by the NFL. This date may move from year to year. Any player not given a contract extension prior to this date will be franchise tag eligible. see "contract extensions".
Buyouts:
You may buyout one contract per off-season with a 100% penalty for the average of all seasons left on the contract, but you will not have to pay that player for future seasons. (i.e. a contract that reflects 3 years left at 5 mil, 8 mil, 10 mil will only have a 2022 cap hit of 7.66 mil)
Trades:
Trades will be agreed on and posted on ProBoards. Teams are responsible for proposing and accepting the trades on Fantrax. You can trade anything (draft picks, salary cap (10m max per year), players).
Trades may never put a team over the cap unless there it is stated that a player is being waived, sent the practice squad or being put on IR to bring the cap hit below the maximum. If a player is being stated that he is being waived due to an incoming trade, you must take into account that if the player goes unsigned you will be liable for some of his salary.
Teams may trade Extensions and Restructures, but the rules to use them remain the same.
***************************************************************TRADE COMMITTEE************************************************************************
ALL TRADES WILL BE VOTED ON BY TEAMS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TRADE. ANY OTHER TEAM IS ALLOWED TO VOTE. THIS WILL BE DONE UNDER THE PROBOARDS TRADE THREAD. TEAMS THAT ARE APPROVING THE TRADE WILL SIMPLY SAY PASS AND WHERE IT STANDS (i.e. PASS 1-0, PASS 2-0, etc....). TEAMS WHO WISH TO VETO A TRADE WILL STATE THE REASONING BEHIND THE VETO AND UPDATE THE CURRENT COUNT ON THE TRADE (i.e. VETO 0-1, VETO 3-1, etc...). TEAMS MAY CHANGE THEIR MIND ON A DECISION AND WILL CREATE A NEW REPLY THREAD (DO NOT EDIT A PREVIOUS REPLY) AND THAT TEAM MUST ALSO EXPLAIN REGARDLESS OF PASS/VETO WHY THEY CHANGED THEIR MIND. ************ANY DISCUSSION REGARDING THE TRADE OTHER THAN YOUR PERSONAL REASONING ON A CHANGE OF THOUGHT OR VETO WILL BE DONE ON THE GROUP MESSAGING APP***********
ALL TRADES MUST BE PASSED WITH A MINIMUM OF 5 PASSES. MORE VOTES WILL BE APPRECIATED AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AS THIS WILL IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER EFFECT EVERYONE'S TEAMS AT SOME POINT. IF YOU FEEL A TRADE SHOULD HAVE GONE A DIFFERENT WAY (it passed when you felt like it shouldn't have and vice-versa) BUT YOU DID NOT VOTE ON THE TRADE THAN SORRY, YOUR'E OUT OF LUCK. LETS KEEP THE PARTICIPATION UP.

Rookie Draft:
Each off-season, we will have a 4 round first year player/rookie draft that mimics the NFL Rookie Draft.
The pay scale for rookies will be decided by their real life contracts per spotrac.com (cap hit). If an owner decides not to accept the contract then the player will head to free agency and waived for no penalty. All contracts from this draft will end in some type of rookie designation. If the real life team contract does not end in an option or RFA then we will do our own and it will be denoted on the spreadsheet as a yellow "R" which is treated as a UFA year (see rules previously stated regarding that)
*****NOTE****** THIS WILL BE THE ONE AND ONLY EXCEPTION TO THE SALARY CAP RULES. THE DRAFT MAY PUT A TEAM OVER THAT CURRENT YEARS SALARY CAP BUT THAT TEAM MUST ENSURE THEY ARE UNDER THE SALARY CAP WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF COMPLETING THE DRAFT. IF THIS IS NOT DONE THAN ALL DRAFT PICKS FOR THAT YEAR WILL BE SENT DIRECTLY TO FREE AGENCY.
New Owners:
All new owners will receive compensation as decided by the commissioners at the time. ie: more extensions, restructures etc. This will be specifically tailored to the needs of the team in order to give new owners an edge.
