Something to look at/discuss while we wait for the season to get closer. I will rank the top team's WR rooms in this post.
These rankings take the following things into consideration:
~ Star Power at the position
~ Depth at the position
~ expected potential growth of players this season
One of the more important positions in all of fantasy football. The Wide Receiver. In our league you can start 2-5 each week, so it is very important to have both talent and depth at this position. I ranked the top 10 groups, along with a few other teams with some dynamic duos at the position, plus a 2 young trios who could potentially be good.
1. Miami Dolphins: Tyreek Hill, MIA / Jaylen Waddle, MIA / Tee Higgins, CIN / Tyler Lockett, SEA / Rashid Shaheed, NO
Without any surprise, Miami comes in at the no. 1 spot. Having the explosive Dolphins duo alone would rank high on this list, but also having Tee Higgins, Lockett and Shaheed who can also give you 12+ points per week is unmatched. Being able to start all 5 of these guys weekly will definitely help Miami's offense put up monstrous points week in and week out.
2. Arizona Cardinals: CeeDee Lamb, DAL / DeVonta Smith, PHI / Malik Nabers, NYG / KaVontae Turpin, DAL
Arizona takes the no. 2 spot. CeeDee is a top 3 dynasty WR. Smith gives you 15 ppg on average. Nabers is one of the best WR prospects coming out of college over the past decade, who should be Jones' favorite target every week. And Turpin is a great returner, who will benefit from an increased workload plus new kickoff rules this year.
3. Minnesota Vikings: Justin Jefferson, MIN / Deebo Samuel, SF / Zay Flowers, BAL / Kendrick Bourne, NE
The Vikings come in at no. 3. Jettas is an alpha wide receiver, arguably the best wide receiver in the league. Deebo is explosive and will easily rack up fantasy points for you. Zay is a young, exciting receiver who seems to be a top target for Lamar. Bourne is a solid player who can get you around 8-12 pts per week. His floor is solid but no real high ceiling potential.
4. Dallas Cowboys: Cooper Kupp, LAR / Brandon Aiyuk, SF / Rome Odunze, CHI
A lot of star power in this trio. Kupp might be getting older, but he still can be great for the Rams if he's healthy. Aiyuk is elite as long as he is on the field, for San Fran or another team if that's what happens to him. Odunze won't be super productive his rookie year, with all the mouths to feed in that offense, but he will be a successful long-term receiver for Caleb and the Bears. Dallas also has Chris Moore & Jalen Tolbert who can contribute some points each week, maybe.
5. Detroit Lions: Chris Olave, NO / Calvin Ridley, TEN / Jakobi Meyers, LVR
Detroit takes the last top 5 spot in our rankings. Olave is a true WR1 with minimal competition in his offense. Ridley should pair well across from D-Hop in Tennessee. Meyers showed last year how successful he can be in Vegas. All three give you great points each week (around 14-15 each last year).
6. Cincinnati Bengals: Puka Nacua, LAR / Romeo Doubs, GB / Ladd McConkey, LAC
Cincy has a young, exciting trio heading into the year. Puka broke records as a rookie and looks to continue that success. Romeo was a solid, consistent option for Love in Green Bay last year. Expect more of that this season. Ladd should be able to build a great rapport with Herbert, as he is an excellent route runner with "sneaky athleticism". Cincy also has solid options like MVS, Chark, Zaccheaus and Dyami Brown, who could maybe be start-able options.
7. New York Jets: Nico Collins, HOU / Christian Kirk, JAX / Marvin Mims Jr, DEN / Darius Slayton, NYG / Tyler Boyd, TEN
Nico looked like a favorite target for Stroud in his exciting rookie year. I expect more success from those 2 this season. Kirk was one of the better slot receivers last season and a top target getter for T-Law. Mims, Slayton, and Boyd should have solid, consistent roles each week. New York also has some notable names in Juaun Jennings & Alec Pierce.
8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Drake London, ATL / Courtland Sutton, DEN / Rashod Bateman, BAL
Will Kirk Cousins save London and finally help him reach his true potential? Tune in week 1 and we will see. Sutton had a breakout season with 10 TDs last year, and looks to have an expanded role with the departure of Jeudy. Bateman, when healthy, can be a consistent contributor for the Bucs. Tampa also has rookie Javon Baker, who "Makes people in wheelchairs stand up".
9. Indianapolis Colts: Jordan Addison, MIN / Xavier Worthy, KC / Wan'Dale Robinson, NYG / Demario Douglas, NE / Xavier Gipson, NYJ / K.J. Osborn, NE
Addison looked very promising his rookie year, and should continue this success. Worthy has blazing speed on the field (Addison has blazing speed off the field). Wan'Dale, Demario Douglas and Osborn are all solid options who could give you a nice floor each week. Gipson should exceptional return abilities and should benefit from new kickoff rules.
10. Los Angeles Chargers: Jerry Jeudy, CLE / Josh Palmer, LAC / Brian Thomas Jr, JAX / AT Perry, NO
LA is the first team to be on all 3 lists (QB, RB, WR). Jeudy going to Cleveland raises his floor/ceiling compared to being in Denver. Palmer showed to be a consistent deep threat for the Chargers last season. Brian Thomas Jr looks to T-Law's newest target, who should be a great deep threat to pair with Lawrence's big arm. AT Perry showed flashes last year and looks to build on those with a larger role this season. Also has some fliers in Rondale Moore, Skyy Moore, Tez Walker, Luke McCaffrey, Malachi Corley and Parker Washington.
Honorable Mentions:
-Dynamic Duos-
Philadelphia Eagles: D.J. Moore, CHI & Michael Pittman Jr, IND
New England Patriots: A.J. Brown, PHI & DeAndre Hopkins, TEN
Baltimore Ravens: DK Metcalf, SEA & Tank Dell, HOU
Kansas City Chiefs: Mike Evans, TB & Hollywood Brown, KC
-Young Trios-
Pittsburgh Steelers: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, SEA / Keon Coleman, BUF / Jahan Dotson, WAS
Las Vegas Raiders: Marvin Harrison Jr, ARI / Christian Watson, GB / Michael Wilson, ARI
