I wish I'd remembered to bring this up this season, but wanted to note this here for next year.
The PS rules make no sense to me. I'd like to propose that if you want to reflect the "NFL", then I think PS in regard to UDFA should be opposite of what it is. If you ROOKIE DRAFT a rookie, THEN they should NOT be PS eligible, unless (and this is ONLY caveat) they are put on PS in real life. The UDFA rookies SHOULD be immediately PS eligible. If you draft 30 players in the Rookie draft, then you should NOT get to stash half of them in PS, while someone UDFA adds 10 players should not be forced to keep a lower valued player on Active for whole season.
The PS in NFL is a 'stash' for younger players that don't make your roster, but close enough that they might if circumstances warrant. No one gets drafted in Rounds 1, 2, 3, 7 etc in real life and gets sent to PS
OUR PS should also be a 'stash' for UDFA with 0, 1 or 2 years service (with NO requirement for real life PS) OR Non-UDFA players with 0, 1 or 2 years service AND placed on PS in real life.
I see this as a rules gap and since we all knew the rules this year, my suggestion is this starts with the Rookie players in 2025 and grandfather in players from last few drafts in regard to the PS as written now. This covers those that may have had a large number of picks in the past, but mores forward with PS that makes more sense.
